Botox For Sweating: Hyperhidrosis Treatment

by Clare Hudson

Love it or hate it, everyone has an opinion about Botox. This powerful injection is nothing short of a way to turn back time, according to its advocates, many of whom seek out regular Botox injections in order to help prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. The fountain of youth for some; the height of vanity for others. Botox detractors cannot deny its effectiveness, but scoff at the need so many have to use it, writing it off as mere self indulgence, an all too clear sign of the times.

However, both of these arguments overlook the other very positive benefits to using Botox injections. While Botox has become a household name for its cosmetic usage, recent medical advances show that Botox has powerful medical benefits as well for certain conditions. One of the latest discoveries is that Botox injections can help cure hyperhidrosis, an embarrassing condition that causes people to sweat in excess.

Botox Injections For Sweating

This condition, which does affect nearly 20,000 Americans, is problematic for anyone who suffers from it. It can interfere with everyday life, making it hard to feel confident going out in public. For some people, especially those who work in sales, television, or any other interpersonal position, the condition can actually be detrimental, since the sweating is so excessive that it often soaks through clothes and leave a foul order. Many people afflicted with the condition have found that little helps, until Botox.

Botox injections can stifle sweating much the same way they can boost skin for a smoother complexion. When targeted against wrinkles, the lines are lifted. When aimed at sources of excessive sweat, it can block the nerve signals that trigger sweat, therefore reducing the amount of sweat produced. The procedure is relatively safe and effective, with results lasting anywhere between six to twelve months.

However, the problem is that it is not cheap. To have the procedure performed on both armpits, for example, can cost nearly two thousand dollars. To make matters worse, insurance companies do not cover Botox injections, not even when they are used for non-cosmetic reasons, such as in the hyperhidrosis treatment.

Still, for those who suffer from embarrassing sweat, Botox injections can provide that coveted cure, even if only a temporary one with a hefty price tag. Yet, the benefit of being comfortable in the world again may just be worth the cost.

Do you know if botox injections would help stop facial twitching after gamma knife radiation on a noncancerous tumor on the cover of my brain? The twitching was expected and just to last maybe a year, but three years has gone by and I still have the twitching.K.C.

I used botox only for excessive sweating and I’m glad to say this really worked. A friend told me to do this, because she had it done too, so she made me an appointment at her botox Toronto clinic. After the treatment I was very surprised because this was a painless procedure, so I’ll do this again with no fear.

If you desired a facelift from the surgeon, it would fee alot more than a effortless botox procedure and entail far extra possibility. The only downside of this procedure is that it has to be done various instances if you want to always keep your look steady. This will make the total price mount up over time, as an substitute to one massive payment.
